Trademark Objection Examination Report in India

1. The Examination Report

After filing, the Trade Marks Registry conducts an examination. If the examiner raises objections, the application status is marked as 'Objected' and an official Examination Report is issued.

Objections generally fall under Section 9 (Absolute Grounds, such as lack of distinctiveness or descriptive nature) or Section 11 (Relative Grounds, due to identical or similar marks already registered for similar goods/services).
